Analysis of Primary Research: What is the common denominator? Catherine notes added too

1. Online is all well and good, but there will always be the need to touch the fabrics. This is the nature of the industry.

2. Pattern books, as they are, are too heavy and hard to store. People have smaller offices and spaces now, this limits the volume of pattern books one person can own.

-always be a place for pattern books in showrooms as they show all fabrics in collection. Maybe the format can change?
-interior designers less willing to buy the book. Prefer samples that they can move around and make a design from instead of being dictated to
-Swatches are much more useful than pattern books
-physical touch is always going to be important so cannot completely rule out pattern books no matter what age
-client wants more involvement in design- make it personal. home is a representation of self, much like fashion
-interiors shouldn't be faddy. Good design can last a life time, with a few changes at big life points/stages
-people- clients/interior designers like to mix and match and not just be matchy
-brand loyalty is big when first introduced to interiors though recommendations
-interior companies need to be able to give the whole package now. Design, visualisation, architecture etc.
- there will always be people that have no idea whatsoever so will need guidance- instore or by designer
