Polyvore now includes beauty products in its fashion search platform. The site has launched a new search feature that allows users to click on any color, to view the cosmetic product in the desired shade, across multiple beauty brands. Jess Lee, Polyvore’s Chief executive Officer and Co-Founder says the idea came from the community:
Beauty and fashion have always been intertwined at Polyvore. The community often adds lipsticks and fragrances to their outfits…[they] gave us the idea to make it easier to shop and search for beauty products. We just followed their lead.
Searching for cosmetics in a color-first, instead of brand-first method will help users add and build to their style boards. Furthermore, since women often select cosmetics based on color that matches their skin tone, the new search-style makes her overall shopping experience more intuitive and easier to use.
